TSU student jailed on bogus Wal-Mart forgery charge

[Quote:]

A college student’s trip to Wal-Mart last month ended with her in handcuffs and a two-day stay in the Harris County jail.

Nitra Gipson was charged with felony forgery after the Meyer Park Wal-Mart manager accused her of passing bogus money orders. Thing is, the money orders were legit and had been purchased at Wal-Mart to begin with.

I hope she sues the manager, and wal-mart and got a huge amount of money. And that the manager got some bad marks for false accusation or something like that. Maybe a few months in jail will make him see the light.

There has been a similar incident in 2005 at Best Buy, when a customer tried to pay with $2 bills. And to answer your first question: yes, $2 bills exist and are legal tender. More info on the bill and the 2005 Best Buy incident can be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_two-dollar_bill
