   Thank you – I will not ask you whom you voted for – that’s private. But I do thank you for participating in a democratic process. That fact alone will make the world, in the long run, a safer place.

   I have a friend from Nigeria who is now a naturalized U.S. citizen. In 2000, when we
   were going through the various election fiascos, he was listening intently as a group
   of co-workers were debating.

   When there was a lull in the coversation, he quietly said, “You Americans don’t know
   how lucky you are. You have elections – you go vote – and no one gets shot.”

   HIS unique perspective is a jarring reminder that we ARE very lucky – no matter WHO
   gets elected.
