Hij zei ‘harde bewijzen’ daarvoor te hebben, omdat hij het ‘IP-adres’ had getraceerd naar mijn computer. Als zoiets uit de lucht komt vallen, weet je dat dat je hele weekend zal gaan bederven.’

Natuurlijk heb ik dit niet gedaan en mijn gezin- waarmee ik het IP-adres deel- uiteraard ook niet en reageerde uiterst verbolgen. Als ik – of sporadisch iemand uit mijn familie – ergens reageer, doen wij dit altijd met naam en toenaam. Iedereen hoort toch gewoon voor zijn eigen woord te staan?
Omdat ik er niets meer van begreep hoe dit nu kon gebeuren buiten ons om, heb ik me laten uitleggen dat elke computer met een vaste (breedband) internetverbinding een eigen adres heeft, dat bestaat uit een aantal nummertjes. Dit adres heet een IP-adres.
Aangezien mijn IP-adres illegaal lijkt te zijn misbruikt op de website van OOG TV, concludeerde de journalist gemakshalve maar even, dat ik daar dus moest zijn geweest om iets te schrijven. Helaas heeft deze journalist niet werkelijk zijn best gedaan om zich goed in de materie te verdiepen.

Volgens mijn technisch begaafde overbuurman kan iemand die kwaad wil (en dat lijkt hier overduidelijk aan de hand) in drie helaas niet al te moeilijke stapppen andermans IP-adres klonen. Blijkbaar is er door zo’n boosaardig iemand onder mijn IP-adres over het internet gesurft en zijn er stukken geplaatst waar ik helemaal niets van af weet! Zoiets schijnt Spoofen te heten.

-The name of the reporter and their affiliation
-Their deadline and contact phone number
-The name of the individual being requested to give the interview
-The purpose of the interview
-The expertise of the requested interviewee on this subject.

send it to the Department of Commerce, and get approval.

Obviously, this is ludicrous for an agency with such desperately time-sensitive information.  The next major weather event – hurricane, blizzard, tornado, you  name it – will be a much greater hazard to the public, which will be restricted to the narrow straw of regularly scheduled bulletins.  Call CNN to announce a shift in forecast track?  Ix-nay!  Good luck, suckers.
