A four-year-old girl was asked to take down the hood of her cardigan while visiting a seaside amusement arcade.
Karen Lewis’s mother Cheryl, from Shrewsbury, said her daughter was upset following the incident at Les Harker’s Amusements in Rhyl during a holiday.
She said Karen was with her granddad playing on the 2p machine when a worker made the request because of “security”.
The arcade owner has defended the decision saying that his employee was only following instructions.
Didn’t we dispense with this “Befehl ist befehl” crap already?

Actually not totally as rediculous as it sounds. The employee should have used common sense here. But the fact is we have kids of about 7 yrs old now committing serious crime. In a lot of cases they are not punished at all as they are under age (by law) to be punished. We have had a spate of murders over the past months all committed by youths mostly in their teens, early teens and believe it or not even girl gang members. It has caused bit waves over here, especially the murder of an 11yr old in Liverpool. And make no mistake, these “hoody” gangs are most definitely a problem. They roam most big city centres doing as they wish. They almost inevitably carry knives and a proportion have guns. The average citizen is powerless to stop them as firstly they pose a grave danger to life and secondly if they do actually “hurt” any of these, they themselves will be punished. Thanks to some rather rediculous children’s rights laws and human rights laws that we have in place, we now have a situation where the victim has less rights than the perpetrator.
And we solve this by terrorizing four-year olds? I suppose we agree on the fact that this is bat-shit insane?
Terrorizing is a bit strong a word to use. But like i said, the chap should have used common sense rather than strict adherence to the rules passed down. The guy was a plonker. But i wouldn’t make any more of it. The same applies for those TSA guys at US airports. My point though, was that it wasn’t completely as mad as you think. Unfortunately its getting to be a pretty blurred line on the street in the UK. When i was 7 years old i was playing Judo and jumping ramps on bikes with friends. Nowadays, they’re “happy slapping” (beating the shit out of strangers for the sheer hell of it), smoking and dealing drugs. The Jamie Bulger case back in the late 90′s was an early indicator of just how wrong we have gone. Alas, UK society hasn’t been moving in the right direction.
