I am strongly opposed to questions of the type “which is the odd one out” during IQ tests. On the other hand, I do not mind them in different settings, especially when they are fun. Inspired by Martin Gardner, I spent a lot of time drawing this picture, and now I have to share it with the world. So, which is the odd one out?

Each one is, in its own way.
The first is the only large red square with a border.
The second is the only shape without a border.
The third is the only non-square.
The fourth is the only non-red.
The fifth is smaller than the other four.
If forced to make a choice, I’ll say the first because it requires the most qualifiers to distinguish it from the other four.
Look at it this way. The first one is the only one that doesn’t have a feature you can describe as “it is the only one that…”
Oh wait, it does…
Of course, the odd one out is the white triangle with the white border, which you can see very clearly to the right of the other five figures
Just kidding!
Actually… Yeah, I’m going for the first one. (: It’s the only unmodified image; the other four are simple variations on the first: different border, different shape, different color, different size. The first one has none of these. I think it’s the odd one out on a more fundamental level.
On the other hand, the question is actually pretty meaningless when the others don’t establish a good pattern. ;p
Nice one! Kudos for an interesting, fun, and surprising odd-one-out puzzle!
the second from the left is the only one that does not have a black border.
D’oh! Nevermind…
