Sounds like a doomed company which is destroying itself out of sheer stupidity. Happens all the time.
In such a situation, the competent employees are usually the first to leave for a new job.
Such reports confirm my opinion that nobody should rely on a single company (job ‘security’ in the 21st century, ROFLLOL). Everybody should actively and constantly work on a strong network of people, and should not hesitate to immediately look for a new job and hand in ones notice at the first signs of doom.
These sociopathic corporations don’t deserve ANY loyalty.
