Donations to GOP, US Chamber of Commerce ‘in the interest of the country,’ Murdoch asserts
Accepting an award from the Anti-Defamation League, Fox News owner Rupert Murdoch criticized left wing groups and activists for what he said was a growing trend towards anti-Semitism.
“Today it seems that the most virulent strains [of anti-Semitism] come from the left,” Murdoch told an audience in New York Wednesday.
WASHINGTON — Christine O’Donnell may not be a witch, but she knows how to use scare tactics to raise money, top Republican strategists and officials here tell me.
They say the Delaware Republican is loudly complaining about how they won’t support her — and they are not — as a way to generate angry, send-them-a-message donations from her Tea Party base.
Specifically, according to two top GOP insiders, she said at a strategy meeting with DC types last week: “I’ve got Sean Hannity in my back pocket, and I can go on his show and raise money by attacking you guys.”

Scientists working for the UN say that they have eradicated a virus which can be deadly to cattle.
If confirmed, rinderpest would become only the second viral disease – after smallpox – to have been eliminated by humans.
Rinderpest was once prevalent in the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
The UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has said that it will now suspend its efforts to track and eliminate the virus.
The FAO said it was "confident" the virus has been eradicated from those parts of the world where it is prevalent.
So the only remaining samples are those owned by governments for experimental weaponization.

“Investors were not given sufficient information to make the decisions that they needed to make to see if they were going to buy these securities,” testified Kurt Eggert, a professor at Chapman University School of Law in Orange, Calif. “They should have been given loan-level detail for every pool for which securities were issued. Current loan-level detail, not what was true weeks ago or a month ago. Instead, they got vague, boilerplate language about ‘underwriting,’ and that there were ‘substantial exceptions,’ whatever that means. They should have gotten the due diligence reports that we just heard described. Those reports existed. The exceptions were described and defined. Why weren’t investors given that information which was in the hands of the people that were selling the securities? Why weren’t they given the underwriting reports by the originators who knew what exceptions were given and why?”
Because the banks knew they were full of shit, that’s why.

When a bank has an algorithm that predicts the results of its own trades on the market, that’s fine. For others, it’s illegal.

See, that’s the difference between America and France. If this had happened in America, they would have found newspapers and old junk stacked to the ceiling and the mummified corpses of half a dozen housecats. In France, there was a multimillion-dollar portrait of a beautiful woman and love letters from the Prime Minister.

Anyone who’s done serious iPhone development can tell you there’s a lot of design work involved with any project.
If it’s in the best interest of America, then surely Kangarupe will be happy if ALL such donations are made a matter of public record.
I won’t hold my breath…
