Arizona Congresswoman Shot Outside Grocery Store

A gunman shot U.S. congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords during an event outside a Safeway in Tuscon Arizona this morning. At least 12 others were wounded.

She was a blue-dog democrat. At least this time the guy survived to tell his motives. If he was inspired by Beck, Rush, FOX et al, it will be nice to hear him alive to say so. Much more difficult for his accomplices in the media to spin out of it that way.

  1. Neo Nazis. Another ominous sign about state of affairs in the formerly democratic united states.

"We received a copy of the YouTube video showing the quantity of liquid served in the 16 oz. beer cup is the same quantity that fits into the 20 oz. beer cup. This is the first time we have been alerted to this fact. Upon our internal investigation this afternoon, we discovered the cups that are marked 16 oz. hold 20 oz. of liquid. Fans who purchased a 16 oz. beer actually received 20 oz. of beer for the 16 oz. price. Fans that purchased the 20 oz. beer received the amount they purchased. We are working with Levy Restaurants to follow up with the cup vendor about the measurement and to determine how long this has been occurring at Qwest Field. We are determined to find a solution as quickly as possible. In the meantime, we will serve domestic beer in the 20 oz. cup at tomorrow’s playoff game to ensure all fans receive the amount they purchase, and we will charge the 16 oz. price."

The U.S. Justice Department has ordered Twitter to hand over data associated with multiple user accounts, in preparation for legal action related to Wikileaks.

"There are many WikiLeaks supporters listed in the US Twitter subpoena," Wikileaks stated over Twitter tonight.

And rop blogs about it.

Ovi Store: Nokia

Click on any app: http://store.ovi.com.

If you’re a developer, you’ll love the amount of testing that step 2 in the “buy-an-app” process involves…

  1. You don’t need to be a developer to look at that and say, “Fuck me!”

  2. So I picked NOS news. Selected a 3120 and than it tells me: “Sorry, not for that phone.” So though they do know it does not run on that phone. They wait until after I selected the phone to tell me no. This can be improved in so many ways. Like having a red circle around phones that can’t run the software or even better, ask me what phone I have first and only offer me software I can run.

Besides I don’t think they tested all combination. Nokia phones are based of a few lines that are generally compatible. They might just have a database with information on phones. They can hardly ask you what line of phone you have, so they have to ask you the type.

Verizon sends invitation, ‘Net flies into iPhone flurry

Verizon has sent out invitations to a special media event in New York next Tuesday, January 11, which many Apple-watchers believe will be an announcement about the rumored Verizon iPhone. The date matches up with a previous rumor that Apple would announce the Verizon iPhone on the same day; we’re beginning to believe it’s true.

The invitations were sent to numerous members of the press, to both "regular" gadget bloggers and Apple journalists. (Ars got one as well.) Pictured at the top of this post, the invitation is expectedly vague and doesn’t directly give any hint that it might be iPhone related. (Also, don’t fault us for the eye bleeding compression on that image—it was sent out from Verizon that way!)

I hope their network is better than their jpeg compression technology…
