It’s not the government that’s worried about this. It’s the businesses that are afraid they’ll lose customers.
Isn’t the simple solution to force *all* of these service providers to provide the data to the FBI? Then there’s no competitive difference and they can just disclose it.
I suppose it would, Desiato, but I like the notion of them going through the formality of getting a warrant or having to cite some law.
