Imagine if Romney had called President Obama, asked how he could be of assistance in this time of crisis, offered to appear at his side at a press conference to demonstrate that, when American lives are at risk, politics stop at the water’s edge—and then had his staff put out the word that he’d done these things, which would have made him look noble and might have made Obama look like the petty one if he’d waved away these offers.

  1. This isn’t Romney’s first go at this either, remember. He campaigned for Governor in a VERY blue state and successfully got a Heritage Foundation (VERY right wing) idea through there. He ran in 2000 for President & lost to John McCain who himself lost to Dubya. He tried again in 2008 & lost (again) to McCain (So he’s not as good as the guy who wasn’t as good as George Dubya Bush – Can we set the bar any lower here?).

This is the third time he’s tried to bite this cherry but he doesn’t seem to have learned that much, or surrounded himself with a savvy, media-wise team. If it weren’t for the fact that the other Primary Candidates were one step above the Keystone Kops (I think of Perry, Bachmann, Cain, Santorum & Gingrich as the Keystone Kandidates – Let’s hope we see them again in 2016!) he’d have been crushed, again.

People who don’t learn from history & all that but Romney doesn’t seem to have learned from his OWN history…
