Of the 28 nonincumbent nominees, 12 to 15 share the view of Akin, Mourdock, and the party platform. They believe a rape victim should be forbidden to terminate her pregnancy. This is no longer a fringe position. It isn’t a couple of gaffes by renegade crackpots. It’s the predominant view among Republican nominees for the nation’s highest legislative body. It’s what the Republican Party is.

  1. Sounds like a Rapist’s Charter is in development. Cut off their nuts before they do anything regrettable, I say!

  2. My question has become: is this the modern equivalent of the biblical rule which holds that an unmarried rape victim must marry her attacker?

  3. These pols shouldn’t be punished for being consistent. If you think abortion is murder, any abortion is murder. You should not have such a position unless you are a serious person and if you are a serious person, you should not water-down your definition of murder. It’s nice that the pro-life position is finally getting the attention it deserves.

  4. Heck, cut off their nuts as well!
