What Hurricane?
During previous hurricanes the Soldiers were told to abandon their posts by the president of the US. They respectfully refused the order and said they would be here no matter what.
Here’s what they normally do:

The dead are dead, they don’t need respect anymore. As for their sacrifice, they got screwed.
Give your respect to the living, not the dead. Words to live by.
I’d go pay my respects at a “Tomb of the Unknown Civilian Child, Age 5 or Younger, Killed While Minding His or Her Own Business”, aka “Collateral Damage”.
