    Back in 1967 I was living and studying in San Miguel de Allende Mexico which is famous for its fireworks. During one of the major national holidays (16th of November if I recall correctly) I was taking photos on one side of the cathedral and was heading over to the other side to get a better view. Just as I was passing behind one column of the church portico, the entire fireworks magazine blew up! A number of people were killed, and many injured. If I wasn’t behind the column, I would be dead right now. As it was, the concussion blew me back several feet and onto my back. Half the rectory was destroyed in the explosion and rubble was everywhere. Black powder may not be as explosive as modern mixtures, but it can still do serious damage!

Children attacked at school

At least 22 children and one adult have been injured in a knife attack outside a primary school in central China, police say.

An officer said the attack, in the village of Chengping in Henan province, happened shortly before 8am on Friday, as students were arriving for classes.

The attacker, believed to be 36-year-old villager Min Yingjun, is in police custody, said officials.

A county hospital administrator said the man first attacked an elderly woman, then students, before being subdued by security guards. Two students have since been transferred to “better-equipped” hospitals outside the county.

    I think there is a world-wide outbreak of the Wacko virus! Given the number of these attacks over the past year or so, I do believe we should start looking at environmental factors – not just mental-health ones…

    Let’s examine the similarities- both men had mental issues, both attacked children at school, in one we find children “injured” with a knife and in the other we find the children “murdered” and bodies mutilated beyond recognition in some cases by bullets designed to kill. But of course “guns do not kill, people do” yeah, right.
