OK, an hour long video… want to tell us what’s interesting?
I’m not sure why, but “LibreAnything” just sounds strident to me and makes me want to run away. (I know, not rational.)
Fucking hell, this guy gives technical presentations with slides set in Comic Sans.
It’s about code quality in openssl, not anything that triggers your aversion.
The Comic Sans is commented on at around 49 mins, it’s sad that more people get excited by an inappropriate font than by the debate about rational coding.
Strident? Hey! LibreOffice is OK! (It’s not exciting; it works).
I saw the “weaponizing Comic Sans” bit later, forgot to come back and follow up on my comment. I don’t get upset when Comic Sans shows up on a restaurant menu or the façade of a barber shop, like some people do… but I expect technologists to have a bit more savvy. Didn’t realize when I made the comment that it was an intentional thing.
RE: LibreOffice, after having tried OpenOffice a few times it’s going to be a looooong time before I give that junk another try.
The LibreSSL plans all sound good, and sounds like it’s high time they throw out much of the OpenSSL code.
